Hosting and ongoing care — what “looked after” means
Hosting keeps the site online. Care keeps it correct, fast, and safe after launch day.
Hosting alone is not care
A server or CDN can serve files and still leave you with broken forms, expired certificates, abandoned plugins, or a homepage that quietly slowed down after a third-party script update.
What looked-after usually covers
Uptime monitoring, backups, dependency and security updates, small content edits, performance checks, and a human who knows the build when something breaks. The exact list should be written in plain language.
Why it matters
Sites drift. Modern tools and advanced code help, but someone still needs to watch the live product. If care is included in your arrangement, ask what happens in month six — not only at launch.
